Sharon Shaw, Springfield (2009)

Sharon and her husband, Jim, are owners of Soaring Wings Vineyard in Springfield. Sharon openly offers her business, Soaring Wings, to host charity events such as Easter Seals, the Lymphoma Association, the Diabetes Association, and the Holy Family Shrine free of charge.

Rita Sanders, Bellevue (2009)

Rita is the director of Richmont Village: Retirement Living in Bellevue. She and her husband, Rick, founded Richmont Village and graciously host many events for the community there.

Terrilyn Quick, La Vista (2009)

Terrilyn moved to La Vista in 1979 to teach for the Papillion-La Vista School District. Since that time, Terrilyn has immersed herself in all things La Vista. After 25 years of teaching, which included coaching cheerleading, girls’ basketball, and gymnastics, and sponsoring several clubs and organizations, Terrilyn continues to stay active in the Papillion-La Vista School District through substitute teaching.

Kelly Marz, Offutt Air Force Base (2009)

Technical Sergeant Kelly Marz is an active duty Air Force member who is very active in the local community through the Offutt Air Force Base/Bellevue Public School Language Mentoring Program. This program provides students knowledge of various languages and cultures.

Kim Kathol, Plattsmouth (2009)

Kim and her husband, Russ, are owners of Main Street Jewelers and Diamond Floral in Plattsmouth. Kim is currently the president of the Plattsmouth Chamber of Commerce and has been instrumental in implementing positive changes in Plattsmouth.

Sue Foehlinger, Ralston (2009)

Sue is the director of Sue’s Stepper-ettes, the largest baton twirling and dance organization in the Midwest. Sue’s Stepper-ettes have entertained parade audiences for more than 35 years. Her dance and baton teams have won hundreds of competitions, including a world championship at an international competition last summer in Belgium.

Carole Carraher, Gretna (2009)

Carole has been with the Gretna High School for 24 years. She has served as an English teacher, counselor, One-Act director and speech coach.

Jean Brown, Papillion (2009)

Jean has worked for the Papillion-La Vista School District since 1987, and is currently the Career Coordinator for Papillion-La Vista schools. Within the school district, Jean coordinates the Cooperation BEST (Better Educating Students for Tomorrow): School Business Partnership program, oversees Career Education K-12, manages state and federal grants, and coordinates the local TeamMates chapter.
