Bellevue survives at NAIA tourney

Bellevue University moved into the Elite Eight of the NAIA Division II National Tournament with a 70-69 win over Cedarville, Ohio Friday afternoon in Point Lookout, Mo.

The Bruins, 27-7, will face 27-4 Indiana Southeast in a quarterfinal game Saturday at 3 p.m.

Bellevue led 70-64 with three minutes left but had to hang on in the closing seconds. Cedarville had two possessions to take the lead, the final one coming when Derrick Hannan missed a 15-footer at the buzzer.

Ron King led the Bruins with 15 points while Antoine Dade had 14 and Avery Tyler 13.
